Welcome to Ensign Sports

Who we are

We are cyclists. We know what we need to achieve our goals, and to bring us joy. So we look for solutions that we are able to share with other cyclists. That is how we started our business – offering solutions to the very new and small premium bicycle market in India. Keeping our passion for cycling close gives us first-hand knowledge of the new challenges that cyclists face and equipment they may need on Indian roads. Our goal therefore naturally becomes to bring carefully selected bicycles and accessories to the emerging cyclist community of India.

Our Story

We are creative problem solvers. In 2011, while attempting to offer solutions to a friend for his bicycle store two things happened. ONE, we enrolled ourselves at United Bicycle Institute, Portland, Oregon and got ourselves certified as bicycle mechanics. TWO, we took our first step in business by importing bicycle stands for retail stores. This began the conversion of our passion and joy into a business venture and Ensign Sports was born. From the very first year we grew rapidly, beginning with just four suppliers in our portfolio. Since then we have found the fun of being in the business of bicycles. Thus the journey for Ensign had begun with an accidental nudge by the universe into an unknown direction as a result of our intentions to make cycling related products easily accessible to all Indian cyclists.

 

 

What We Do

Our Beliefs

We love to cycle. We train hard. We import bicycle parts and accessories to offer solutions that inspire and support cycling.

We are loyalists. We believe that marketing is successful only if the distributor sees the retail store as a vital part of a healthy eco-system instead of as a dumping ground. We therefore see a retail store as a measure of the riders and the riding that happens in and around its area. This helps us create a need analysis report of the store and the retailer. We are then, able to offer answers to his questions instead of only using his store as an outlet for the sales of what we import.

We believe in being open-minded, offering a communicative and engaging relationship to our retailers that ultimately support the end client. We believe that this is the best way to build a strong and respected brand image of companies we represent and an ideal way to increase sales year on year. In the last five years, this philosophy has successfully helped us in growing our business several times our first year sales.

We believe in being caring and nurturing toward the final client by creating lifelong relations and so to further the eco-system. Aggressive marketing in a new, growing market may get in quick results and sales initially, but is unable to sustain itself and erodes brand value in the process. As distributors, we do not believe in short sighted marketing approach rather and we intend to be deeply committed and work towards filling the void and needs of the retailer who in turn serves the enthusiastic riders. We also feel it’s our role to ethically and properly present the brands which we represent in India.
